EXTRA!!! EXTRA!!! READ ALL ABOUT IT
S A D D I
During one of our night time walks, passing the Portland Art Museum as a black tie event was coming to an end, SADDI was going crazy. Pulling me in circles around a life sized statue of a important historic figure on a horse. As she looked up, barking the entire time running around the statue. From across the street, the elegant crowd couldn't help but notice the loud silliness happening. SADDI didn't care, she was seeing a horsey. That always made her happy.
Making a new friend
Muddy trails, covered in soggy leaves. Most of my morning journey was uphill in the depths of fresh scented tall trees. A peaceful quiet, with an occasional distant bark from one of the numerous dogs taking their humans for a walk in the park. As i left treats along the way, i was closely followed by a gang of loud crows. In one bush, i came across at least a dozen hummingbirds. Until finally, i met my new trusting friend. Who allowed me to sit just inches away, taking several pictures, while he enjoyed Sunday brunch.
Depression
Tis the season ... when more people struggle emotionally.
Just because you see happiness, it could very well be a mask someone is wearing to hide what they are truly feeling. Many people isolate themselves from family, friends and social events. People don't want to talk about it ... sadly, many don't want to hear about it. But that doesn't make it go anyway, for anyone. Too often, we fail to see or acknowledge the clear signs until it is too late. Everyone deals with depression differently and the causes are uniquely different. Depression is a common but serious mood disorder. It causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working. You don't have to understand it ... but at least try to be understanding.
