Snowday

My sweet lil nature friends have a schedule and always wait for their food.   Even in this winter blast.  As i opened the sliding backdoor, i was hit with a cold slap in the face of blowing snow.  i tried to toss out some nuts, but the wind was so strong, they flew back towards me into the deep snow drift building up against our backdoor.  But i was able to get a few nuts into an area of the back porch that only had about an inch of snow.  It didn't take long for one of my shy squirrel friends to hop through the snow to get something to eat.  Quickly running to the nearest tree and battling the strong cross winds (wind chills putting the temps into the teens) to climb up and share the treats.  i feel guilty that i didn't bring in the hummingbird feeders last night, which are frozen.
