It's been 15 years since the TV show 'Friends' went off the air. i was never a fan of the show, but i remember very well the time when the series was ending. The local NBC station had a contest where you could win an apartment, rent free for a year, in a trendy neighborhood of Portland. i entered and one of the finalist. i went in for my pre-approval interview and everything was going great, until they said no pets were allowed. Disappointed, i said thank you and was getting ready to leave when the young lady interviewing me suggested i leave SADDI with a friend for a year. i asked her if she had children, she said no. i told her SADDI was my child and there was no way i could leave her with someone else for a year while i selfishly lived in a rent free apartment. Sadly, too many people don't understand or respect the bond that grows between a human and a dog. And mine with SADDI is still strong, even though she has been gone nearly 10 years.
