Autumn with SADDI. Walking along First avenue under the trees raining down leaves. Her paws crunching through the dry leaves. Trying to catch leaves that i kicked into the air. Running circles around me, causing the leaves to lift off the ground. Any season, any day with SADDI was always a blessing ... the memories are keeping me alive and thriving to honor her memory.
Returning to Alki
i went to Alki today, the first time in two months,
since the accident that has messed up my reality.
But i really needed to share sometime with my best friend
... my camera.
We wont spend too much time together,
until my neck gets much better.
But being a witness to the glorious beauty
of Mother Nature was worth the pain
and a comforting release of some negative emotional energy.

Somewhere in my lifetime
You've been here with me
Oh so close to me
Somewhere in my lifetime
Somewhere in my lifetime
They were visions
Of so long ago
You know memories come and go
So they say
People say, yes they do
Let visions of what
Of what will be
Somewhere in my lifetime
It was you and me...You and me
Somewhere in my lonely dreams
You've been here with me
Oh so close to me
And I've been loving you
Somewhere in my lifetime
Somewhere in my lifetime
Somewhere in my lifetime
It was you...and...me...

i miss walking into the bedroom while you were sleeping, waking you up, just to tell you that i love you. And then i would leave. Moments later, you'd walk out of the bedroom to check on me. You couldn't say it, but in your eyes, i could feel you were. And then you would go back and lay down.

i love to sit on the porch in the early morning (though i hate sitting in a wheelchair), watching the new day beginning. The squirrels chasing one another on the steep slope across the street, by the park. The sound of their chase across dry fallen leaves. Doggies taking their humans for a walk through the park, playing with a frisbee or just playfully teasing the seagulls or just casually walking upon the dew resting on the grass. Listening to the diversity of birds singing. Or the sound of a soft cool breeze passing through the many trees, as the leaves begin their dance down from the tops of the tall trees to the waiting ground below. It's another season changing. Another day passing. Another year slipping by all too quickly. Memories of what was, what should have been, what will never be overwhelm me. i cherish these simple precious lonely moments, because they bring me into me. Not the insanity that will soon awake around all of us that will consume the thoughts and become the reality. These moments where i am just a witness to the beauty of what life could be, are rare. They should be take advantage of more often. By doing so, possibly handling reality would be easier. By releasing the pathetic stresses that have become life, and embracing the quiet moments, all could be as it is truly meant to be. As it should be. As i become me.

i use to have a 5 gallon glass jar, that every couple of months SADDI and i would go shopping to get a variety of treats for her to fill it up. i'd put all the treats into a paper bag and shake it up to mix the treats before pouring into the jar. Every morning before going to work, i'd grab a couple of handfuls of treats and toss them on the bed for SADDI. SADDI never ate the treats until i came home. When i came home, after our walk, she'd go into the bedroom, grab a treat and bring it into the living room, where she could see me making dinner. Back and forth until all the treats were gone. And then it was time for dinner.

Thinking about SADDI's gentleness and kindness,
and how much we need it in this world.
As much as we teased her,
SADDI never got annoyed with us.
The only time SADDI didn't accept kisses
was when we were in public.
i really miss giving her kisses,
cuddles and teasing her.
She start sneezing when we'd tease her,
but she never tried to get away
... she just wanted more.
And then those times when a favorite song
came on the radio,
i'd lifted SADDI so she was standing on her back legs
and we'd dance.
And she'd smile ... that beautiful smile.
