SADDI tolerating my bored
EXTRA!!! EXTRA!!! READ ALL ABOUT IT
This picture is 12 years old today. The day Devon arrived from China to join SADDI and i. The day that ended always hearing his dreams were "stupid" and the beginning of a life of being encouraged to go beyond his dreams. 12 years of challenges, fake friends, devastating heartbreak, health setbacks but a commitment to truth and love. This is the first picture of us as a family. And the smile on SADDI's face inspires me to keep believing in what we had 12 years ago. To know, with all my heart, that despite what attempts to hold us down, love and the truth will ensure that we thrive.
Happy Anniversary Devon.
Focus on the Positives
Why waste the energy focusing on the negatives? Of course, some of it can't be avoided, but it can't consume you. There's got to be a positive side found within something troubling you. Some feel the need to thrive in sharing the unhealthy energy they have chosen to live in. i guess it makes them feel less alone to share it with others. ... A simple example of turning the negative around. i left the house, feeling less than alive, i was cold, it was wet and the life i desire hasn't been. But i'm not going to focus on that, because you don't need to hear it and i don't need to keep posting about it. Instead, while waiting for the bus, my thoughts went with the dozens of hummingbirds flying wildly around me. Their beautiful chirping took away my selfish negative thoughts. Thankfully a couple of them posed long enough for me to capture some photos. ... Life has many negatives all around us, but if we truly allow ourselves, we'll find many more positives to fill our needs with. Many more positives to share with others. So simple they may be, but their impact has far more meaning and lasting purpose. Soon the negative energy we seem to think we need to share, fades. And the glorious precious celebration of life takes over, as does the powerful feeling of focusing on energy that will enhance our lives.
S A D D I
This may be the shortest day of the year, but like any other day, it is filled with the memories that help me continue to survive. My silly SADDI loved the snow. Becoming a completely different doggie and so happy to have snowballs tossed at her. i tried to explain to her that snow is just frozen water (she hated getting wet), but it didn't matter. As my hands and toes were numb, SADDI wanted to play some more. Some of my favorite chilly memories is when we would come home. SADDI's thick black fur covered in a blanket of snow. After toweling her off, SADDI would go to bed, for a short nap, and waited for me to wrap her in her special blanket. Before i really had a chance to warm up, SADDI was ready to play in the snow again.
