Throwback Thursday
i've been thinking about Thanksgiving 2001 lately. It was the first year that it was just SADDI and i. My entire family wanted nothing to do with me because of their issues with me being gay. i finally had the courage to kick out an abusive partner, after 4 years (he had come over the night before Thanksgiving to pick up his stuff, leaving behind everything i had given him).
So SADDI and i spent the extremely rainy day alone together. Instead of feeling lonely and depressed, i actually felt free of the negatives i had held onto for too long.
Since it was just the two of us, unable to go out because of the day long down pour, we shared an egg sandwich, cuddled and played.
i got down on all fours, SADDI would crawl under me, then lift her body up, pressing her back against my belly, while looking at me with her beautiful precious smile.
It was that day that i truly appreciated being thankful for what i had.
Squirrel Friends
Our backyard was quite popular this morning after i shared some sunflower seeds and bread with our neighbors. At one time i counted 7 squirrels enjoying the treats.
This is Tripod, our very special and friendly neighbor.
She (we think) got her name because she only has three pws
She will come up on the porch, when we're outside,
and yell at us until we get her some food.
Vive La Paris
On Friday, November 13,
in Paris France,
terrorist killed over 150 in several attacks
on the city of love.
i question this world.
Where is the compassion?
Where is the hope?
When will it end?
World Kindness Day
but seriously, shouldn't it be honored EVERYDAY.
By EVERYONE.
To EVERYONE.
What an glorious world it would truly be.
i miss you so much SADDI
On a crisp Saturday afternoon, Devon and i walked up to the local school, where they were having an open house/craft sale. At one of the tables, someone had made a hat that looked like SADDI ears. It was so cute, i really wanted it, but i wasn't going to pay $65.00. We then went home and took SADDI for a long family walk.
