My Message

i am not a great photographer, as i am told too often.  But honestly, i really don't see myself as a photographer ... i'm a storyteller. A messenger.   i take photos of life as i see it, without the use of photo shop, so others, that are interested,  are able to witness what i did.  i miss many shots, but then i get incredibly lucky.  i don't need words to express my love for this celebration of life, i hope my pictures can express that for me to you.  Never do i seek acknowledgment for my sharing, i only hope that it is welcomed by others. Encourages others to go out and seize EVERY moment.

S A D D I

Seated on the love seat with SADDI closely next to me, while enjoying a bag of popcorn.  For every handful i took, i gave SADDI a piece.  After awhile, SADDI was quicker than i so i tossed a handful of popcorn on the floor for her.  She didn't move from the love seat but kept looking up at me.  So i gave her a couple of pieces, while i ate a little.  i tried to show her the popcorn on the floor waiting for her, she wasn't interested.  After we finished the bag of popcorn, again i showed SADDI the popcorn on the floor for her.  She got off the love seat, big cat like stretch, sniffed the popcorn and then went into the bedroom to take a nap.  i was left to pick up the popcorn.

let there be
no excuses,

Update on Naughty Squirrels

Returning to the scene of the crime

While i figure out where to hang the feeder, for the birds, so the squirrels don’t knock it down. Someone figured out where the feeder is and decided to be brave, despite me sitting just inches away.

Naughty Squirrels

my squirrel friends are being naughty, forgetting how well i treated them in the snow we had ... just about a month ago. i hung a bird feeder on a small branch and the squirrels knocked it down by hanging from it and eating the food. So i moved the feeder onto to porch, the squirrels figured out how to get to that too. i’m a home without branch, that i can reach, to hang the feeder for just the birds.

GooD MorninG

Seated on the front porch, taking in the fresh cool morning air.  Watching the variety of birds jumping from the still bare trees ... two woodpeckers, a shy blue jay, a curious flicker and across the street a bald eagle flew gracefully over the park.  Squirrels racing around seeking snacks.  Tiny black-capped chickadees looking for the feeder that i had to move because the clever squirrels figured how to hang from the branch and eat from the feeder.  i watched one of the chickadees standing on the branch where the feeder once hung and looked down to see the empty space.  In the very early hours, just a darkness gets a hint of light, the park across the street is covered in white.  Hundreds of  seagulls gather and in one moment they fly into the air, circling the park only to cover the ground again.  i use to dislike the song of the gulls, but now i find it calm and relaxing.  Especially when i am doing my work out along the Puget Sound.  Later in the morning, from the view of my porch, i can watch the doggies playing in the park.  That always brings me joy.

From my front porch, i am honored with the blessings of natures.  And just a short distance away i am happily overwhelmed by even more of the beauty of life.  Each day i make a point of embracing life because one day it could all be gone ... as sadly so much of it is already disappearing. i never take for granted what life unselfishly shares with me and i am forever thankfully to my precious SADDI for teaching me to cherish the simple joys in life.  As you appreciate the simple things, everything else will come to have greater importance to you.  A scent, a taste, a feel, a sound or even a moment.  Especially the true meaning of the celebration of life.
