It amazes me how something so simple can bring back a cherished memory. In the early days of autumn, the weather cooler and the strength of the wind blowing, my always special walks with SADDI had a special entertainment. The wind blowing against SADDI's thick black fur, reminded me of a field of wheat moving with the wind. When we would stop for a brief rest, SADDI lifted her head to feel the wind blowing on her face. Strange, because she never liked me blowing in her face. i have such a strong memory of sitting on a bench along the Portland waterfront and just watching SADDI, with her eyes closed, that beautiful smile, enjoying the season. It was SADDI who taught me to stop and appreciate the simple things in life.
